For its third venue in Japan Coutume café chose an upscale environment within the ground floor of the Takashimaya department store of Futakotamagawa in Tokyo. Surrounded by luxurious brands such as Chanel or Jil Sander CUT architectures designed this new Coutume as a refined location.
Focusing on the filter-coffee the bar is set as a long collection of wooden volumes showcasing the work of the barista working on the coffee-drip stand. The whole façade is treated in transparent glass to take advantage of the corner position of the café and to give a 180° view on the baristas at work.
Coutume café signature is here inverted, the counter are made out of wooden tiles integrating white tiles while the white tables integrate a wooden tile.
A light brass structure proliferates from the ceiling integrating small LED panels and the shop signage.
La troisième enseigne de Coutume est située au cœur d’un centre commercial haut de gamme dans le quartier prisé de Futakotamagawa. Entouré de prestigieuses enseignes telles que Chanel et Ralph Lauren, Coutume se déploie en angle et offre 2 façades totalement vitrées. L’espace d’un tenant s’affirme sous une forme plus élaborée où le sol en chêne et les comptoirs en carreaux de chêne dans lesquels s’insèrent ponctuellement des carrelages blanc contrastent avec de très fines structures tubulaires en laiton, suspendues au plafond, offrant un grand luxe et des supports d’exposition de produits.
