Rocking Pad is unusual.
Appearing as a floating presence merging into the physical and visual space it offers different perspectives to the beholder.
Endowed with movement, it will alternate between mobility and immobility.
Conceived in between sculptural and architectural scale the Rocking Pad is a penetrable wooden structure providing a unique minimalist device, a shelter to rest and to enjoy The Forks surrounding scenery.
Composed as a regular hexagonal structure, the hut will provide frames offering multiple views, the six edges shaped fragment will act like a screen that seizes the surrounding landscape. Challenging its surrounding it gives new perspectives on it, intensifying the horizon.
The Rocking Pad engages not only vision but also the entire body of the user who’s activating the device by pushing it, rotating it, sliding it, climbing on it, giving an ever changing point of view on the site, the hut and the hut within the site.

Rocking Pad is a ship for discovery and observation, a shelter for the body, a vehicle for the imaginary drive.
